Making this iced tea is really more of a process. You can adapt it to the amount that you want. I make a batch and a half. I find that it fills my pitcher perfectly. To get the original recipe, click on the link here.
Pour 6 cups of water into a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the tea bags and take off of heat to steep. I make a batch and a half, so I add 12.
Set the timer for 10 minutes - no more, no less. Why? Increased time means increased bitterness. Any less and you will not get the wonderful jolt of caffeine that makes iced tea wonderful. Walk away and fold some clothes, water your garden, or do a 10 minute exercise on the TV.
When the 10 minutes is up, take the tea bags out of the water and escort them to the trash can. Their job here is done.
Place 6 cups of cold water into the vessel of your choosing. For me, it's my favorite unbreakable pitcher. I may have dropped this thing on my toe about 20 times since I've had it. Add 3/4 cup of sugar and stir to dissolve.
